Hailing from southwest Louisiana, the four-time GRAMMY nominated Pine Leaf Boys have made a name for themselves worldwide presenting an inimitable brand of Cajun and Creole music with youthful exuberance. Known for their wild shows and thoughtful arrangements, the five-piece band breathes new life into traditional Cajun songs, bringing them to the bandstand with exuberant flair. The Pine Leaf Boys preserve the traditional Cajun sound while allowing it to breathe and stretch with those who play it.
In addition to appearing on HBO's Treme in 2010, the Pine Leaf Boys have completed two U.S. State Department world tours, performing in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Denmark and more. Their mission is to present the beautiful, powerful music of their ancestors to the world and prove that it is still thriving and full of life. As The New York Times says, the Pine Leaf Boys combine "a mysterious past—the nearly forgotten dialect and the archaic squeezebox's red bellows—with an unabashed rock 'n' roll energy conducive to the elbow-flying, hip-swiveling spirit on the dance floor."
