Fairbanks, Alaska band Young Fangs is made up of drummer Joel Fagre and singing and guitar-playing brothers Brennan and Josh LaBuda, bursting onto the local music scene during University of Alaska Fairbanks' 2011 "The Great Cover Up" event. During the much-loved musical showcase featuring 20-minute sets of local bands covering their favorite artists, Young Fangs won the hearts of attendees with their inspiring Kings of Leon set.
From that point on, the band set to work creating original material, performing at various local venues as they honed in on their musical identity. Brennan LaBuda describes their genre-blending sound as “collage rock," as it draws from indie, rock and alternative musical styles. They write collaboratively to create songs that take listeners to a joyful place of truth. Their thought-provoking lyrics, resonant brotherly harmonies and driving guitar riffs create a sound that is all at once honest and uplifting.
